Beta Blogger or Not?

Since blogger introduced their new beta blogger I have been torn as to whether to switch over or not. My biggest fear, and the primary reason I’m holding back from doing so, is losing my template. I have worked hard and long on it and I won’t be a happy bunny if it got all messed up or even worse, disappeared completely.

Have any of you switched over yet? Have you had any problems with it? Did your templates remain intact? Is it worth switching over? One thing I find though is that I have problems leaving comments on blogs that have switched to beta blogger. I have to click on the publish button several times before my comment appears.

Please let me know if you’ve had any problems with it before I take the plunge.

I just switched over on Monday and everything seems ok for now.

You have to use a google account to log in. I like it cos you can apply labels to posts to group them under different topics.

I switched a while ago. Your template is quite nice, but it's simple enough that there shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't have any problems worth mentioning, but I used and still use one of the default templates. Besides, I think you won't have much of a choice soon.

Funny, I was going to blog on this over the weekend, but then I took the plunge and switched to the beta. It's been fine so far. I am yet to have any problems with it. I use one of the blogger templates, though I made some minor modifications, but it is still the same.

Like londonbuki, it's great because you can label your blogs. This, I'm guessing, should make searching for specific posts easier.

I suggest though that you increase the font of your post. Its so tiny and I have to at times squint to read it

i say you take the plunge... i'm loving it! but then again, i really hadn't customized my template, so i didn't have anything to lose.
I would advise you to keep a copy of your code though... just in case.

I have switched and have a custom template done by a friend and it is fine. I have learned though that you have to "sign in" before you want to leave a comment on someone else's blog otherwise I just do the "other" option and write my screen name and website.

go for it!

Okay, I think I'll take the plunge - but be warned, if anything happens to my template, be it on your heads! :-)

@anon: Go the the menu bar on the top of your screen, click on view and click on the Text Size option, and increase the size of your screen text. The font size looks just fine on my screen. Hope it works....

Hmm... I have had a few problems since leaving my comment. Sometimes I can't leave comments on non-beta blogs - desn't allow me log in.
I played with one of my templates, backed up my code BUT couldn't use the old code.

I guess if you keep things simple, you'll love it.
